Forum 2018 logo BOHEMIA, NY – Mar. 8, 2018 – Expanded gamut (EG) has been around for more than 10 years. In that time, there has been an obvious increase in its acceptance in the flexible packaging industry. With the support of major brand owners, EG’s popularity continues to increase to this day. In honor of 7-color process printing, Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA) Forum 2018 has dedicated an entire session to EG titled “Expanded Gamut: Where Are We Now?” on Monday, May 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Overseeing this forward-thinking session are Co-Chairs Julian Fernandez, Esko and John Rastetter, Pamarco. Session presenters will pinpoint challenges and offer solutions to commonplace issues found with this style of printing. Attendees will hear how EG influences design and the printrun, and where it will lead in the next decade.

“As flexo printers, we are all driven to deliver higher levels of graphic reproduction while improving the bottom line through efficiency and press uptime,” said Rastetter. “This session will provide powerful insight into EG’s value to the printer and brand owner, as well as what to expect on the journey to success.”

The 60-minute session includes an in-depth presentation by Kevin Bourquin, Cyber Graphics and John Hite, Bryce Corp., titled “Mission Expanded Gamut: Better Together!” Their combined talents will provide invaluable information about the capabilities of EG today. Learn more about Kevin and John’s presentation and “expanded” thoughts on EG’s past and future, in an in-depth preview of the Monday morning session.
