WURZBURG, Germany—Dr. Peter Lechner is the new CEO at Koenig & Bauer Flexotecnica. As planned, he takes over from Christoph Müller, who moves to the company’s supervisory board as chairman.
“Peter Lechner has many years of experience in the field of flexible packaging. He will continue on the positive path of Flexotecnica and achieve our ambitious goals,” says Christoph Müller, Flexotecnica supervisory board chairman and member of the executive board at Koenig & Bauer.
Lechner previously held leading positions at companies in Germany, the USA and the Czech Republic. In the coming year, Flexotecnica will focus on making the best possible use of Koenig & Bauer’s strong service and sales network and even expanding its flexible packaging activities.
Flexotecnica has improved the technological level of its presses over the past 18 months and now its existing product portfolio is expected to be expanded, according to the company. A new press is to be introduced to the market by the end of this year.
“I think we have a very strong team at Flexotecnica. The goal is, of course, to use these prerequisites in order to be able to implement the planned growth in the market,” says Lechner. Flexo printing is growing at an average rate of 4 to 5 percent worldwide, and in some regions even faster. Increased print quality, based on mature prepress and press technology, plays a key role here, according to the company.
