GIRONA, Spain–Pau Xifra will assume the presidency of Comexi, May 1, taking over from Manel Xifra and fulfilling the succession plan initiated eight years ago. Manel will continue to collaborate as a member of the Board of Directors. In a separate move,
José Mª Pastor, current strategy and transformation director, will take on the role of managing director.
Paul Xifra, after a long career in the world of strategic consulting, joined the Comexi Board in 2018. In 2022, he was appointed director of strategy and transformation and as managing director in 2023. He has led the company’s adaptation to current market needs, strengthening Comexi’s position in the flexible packaging sector, achieving very positive results in terms of both sales and profitability.
Pastor joined Comexi a year ago. As director of strategy and transformation, he has driven the company’s strategy and implemented its transformative projects.
Manel Xifra, explained, “Seventy years after the foundation of our company, we are in an exciting moment, experiencing great change, and we believe that it is good that a new generation, with new ideas and ways of doing things, will take over the leadership of the organization in order to face these challenges and achieve even more ambitious goals.”
Paul Xifra commented, “I am very grateful to the Board and the ownership for their trust. It makes me very happy to be able to continue the legacy of all those who have made Comexi what it is today, a world leader in flexible packaging solutions. My responsibility is to continue building on these solid foundations and contributing to the growth of this great company. I know that, with the talent and dedication of the entire team, we have a future full of opportunities that we will seize successfully.”
For his part, Pastor, pledged, “I face this challenge with great responsibility, enthusiasm, ambition and appreciation. I will work and dedicate all my efforts to continue implementing the defined strategy, relying on the strength of our human team and with the ambition to continue growing, consolidating the positive trajectory of recent years.”
