OXFORDSHIRE, U.K.Meech International will be presenting SmartControl—the newest addition to its Hyperion range—at PACK EXPO 2018 (stand E-7407, Oct. 14-17, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL). The range’s static control bars (971IPS-15, 971IPS-30, 929IPS, 924IPS), will also be present alongside Meech’s Hyperion 233v4 Pulsed DC Controller, the Hyperion BarMaster programmer, IML generation equipment, and the CyClean non-contact web cleaning system.

Matt Fyffe, general manager at Meech International, said: “Being such a significant event for packaging innovation, PACK EXPO is the ideal stage for Meech to present its product range to labelers and flexible packagers in a variety of industries.

“Our Hyperion range and web cleaning products present at PACK EXPO are prime examples of technologies devised by Meech following customer feedback on issues they have encountered during packaging production. We’re delighted to be showcasing these innovations at such a prestigious show, and to be presenting our newest product alongside them—the Hyperion SmartControl.”

Developed to allow for easy communication between connected Meech ionizers, SmartControl allows for Hyperion equipment to be adjusted quickly and remotely through a single online platform, reducing the need to monitor static control issues on site. Only one SmartControl is needed for the central control of up to six Hyperion ionizers, with expansion kits available where more devices are needed to be monitored.

Fyffe continues: “With flexibility becoming increasingly important in production environments, Hyperion SmartControl allows operators of Hyperion equipment to access information on static bar performance on a remote device. Adjustments can then be made to the operating settings to achieve maximum productivity and quality output.”

Meech’s Hyperion range of ionizing bars—featuring the 971IPS-15, 971IPS-30, 929IPS and 924IPS—will also be on display. Their default settings allow for quick and easy installation for use on converting lines.

Providing mid-range ionization, the 929IPS bars offer static control, while the 924IPS is one of the most compact pulsed ionizing bars on the market.

Meech’s Hyperion 971IPS-15 and 971IPS-30 bars, designed for even longer ionization ranges, offer ease of installation and eliminate the need for high voltage cabling. The 971IPS-30, used for extra-long range applications (operating distance of 17.7-in. to 59-in.) is the most powerful ionizing bar in the Meech range.

Rounding off Meech’s static control bar solutions at PACK EXPO is the 924—a short-range ionizing bar used on web paths on converting machinery or printing presses. This Pulsed DC ionizing bar’s compact and lightweight size is meant to offer ease of installation and reliable static control between each pass.

Also on the stand will be Meech’s compact and powerful Hyperion 233v4 Pulsed DC Controller. Suitable for use in a wide variety of sectors, the 233v4 includes Meech’s ion current monitoring, allowing for greater control of the performance of up to two Meech pulsed DC ionizers. Offering ultimate flexibility and a maximum output voltage of 15kV, the 233v4 is suitable to use in a wide range of applications.

For the in-mold labeling market, Meech presents its 994CG. A lightweight, compact static generator developed to fit on the end of a robot arm, the 994CG is designed for use with Meech’s Hydra in-mold labeling pinning system and features 4 x 25kV outlets without the need for a splitter.

Meech’s CyClean—a non-contact web cleaning system—will be representing Meech’s web cleaning technology. Capable of removing contamination to below 1 micron, the CyClean is best suited for high speed presses and can handle virtually any substrate, providing a future proof solution to the labeling industry.

Fyffe concludes: “Our range of static control bars, web cleaning technologies, static generation equipment and controllers present at PACK EXPO 2018 will allow Meech to demonstrate how they can assist companies in their future endeavors. On top of product demonstrations, staff on the Meech stand will be available to answer any questions and provide further information on the technology.”
