Mark Andy—Hall 4, Stand C45
Mark Andy, recent winner of a 2017 FTA Technical Innovation Award, will be showcasing its robust portfolio of technology, consisting of new press configuration options and retrofittable enhancements. An updated Performance Series P7 platform will be on stand, boasting direct servo improvements, a fully automated job register and a more ergonomic design to elevate operator experience. The user-friendly model will be fitted with a solvent-free lamination system, producing food-grade flexible packaging live for booth attendees.
Mark Andy’s Digital One hybrid press is capable of digitally printing, converting and finishing in one pass and offers 4-color, CMYK, dry toner process at 1,200 dpi resolution, a multipurpose flexo station for decorative embellishment and inline finishing.
Nilpeter—Hall 7, Stand B35
The new FA flexo press is designed to accommodate the printer’s ever-growing needs, and built around the modern press operator, with an intuitive user interface and fully mobile print controls. It provides a maximum level of stability, tight register tolerance and excellent printing results on multiple substrates. Hands-on press interaction is minimized. All data is saved, jobs are easily recalled and the press will auto register.
Nilpeter’s newly upgraded PANORAMA Hybrid digital product line comes with major enhancements, including a redesign of the converting and flexo printing units, as well as updates to the press’ software.
Mouvent—Hall 3, Stand A60
Mouvent—a new company founded by Bobst and Radex—focuses on digital print using pioneering digital technology. It will reveal its first-ever range of label printing solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2017. These include two all-new, high-speed, 7-color UV ink printers (LB701 UV and LB702 UV) and a digital inkjet label printer in the narrow web segment the company believes represents a “game changer” in the industry.
The web presses print on various substrates such as paper, self-adhesive labels and flexible materials, with a width of up to 6-in./13-in. Production speeds can reach up to 328 fpm with a native resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and an optical resolution of 2,000 dpi.
Codimag—Hall 11, Stand C10
Codimag celebrates its 40th anniversary with enhancements to its Viva 340 Evolution and Viva 340 combination presses based on the company’s Aniflo printing technology.
Aniflo combines offset quality, flexo simplicity and digital flexibility. It features an offset unit with offset plates and an anilox delivery system that brings a uniform ink amount across the web. High-definition plates can be imaged in three minutes, assuring fast setup times and outstanding quality on all commonly used label substrates. Aniflo’s superior stability allows expanded gamut (EG) printing, reaching more than 90 percent of the PMS color book without ink changes or consequential washing.
Viva 340 Evolution, a dedicated Aniflo press, will feature advances in Viva Evolution’s software, architecture and controls. A new human-machine interface (HMI) enables transfer of prepress data to print a label with minimized manual input in minutes. New software features allow automated register synchronization and connectivity with elements in a customer’s IT environment, such as prepress solutions and ERP systems.
Domino—Hall 9, Stand A60
Domino Digital Printing Solutions is targeting the label industry with its latest digital front end (DFE) workflow solution designed for the N-Series range of digital color presses. With improved operating speed and streamlined automation, DFE v2.0 maintains compatibility with the latest Esko code base and can work with a number of variable data printing (VDP) formats.
Domino ScreenPro streamlines the workflow by combining several processes into a single JDF workflow, which enhances speed and efficiency, as well as enabling full offline VDP operation and additional capabilities within DFE v2.0. When compared to DFE v1.2, the increase in job processing speeds is significant and has a major impact when using multiple-page PDF files for variable data printing.
MPS—Hall 11, Stand C20
MPS Systems is set to launch an innovation aimed at promoting interaction between printing presses and Management Information Systems (MIS). Labeled “talk to me,” the new connectivity technology allows for real-time data exchange and control at any given moment. Press operators can be given access to extended “anytime, anywhere” functionality via the specially developed “talk to me” app, easily installed on any Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. Data to be exchanged from the MIS to press includes the customer name, pressrun, color sequence, tooling, material type and thickness, printing plate code and planning (job queue). Data from the press to MIS consists of the operator, printing speed, meters/feet printed (order status), waste produced (waste sheets), setup and printing time.
MPS will also display a second, fully equipped EF press at the Automation Arena (Hall 11).
