CRAWLEY, England—Infigo Software, together with HP Indigo, Karlville and Nobelus, delivered an end-to-end, web-to-pack solution, branded Pack IT, at Labelexpo Europe 2019.
The walk-through solution allowed visitors at the HP exhibit to not only customize their cans and pouches, but also receive their goods the exact same day due to the powerful workflow and integration of print and packaging software and equipment.
At the four-day event, more than 500 products were completed and delivered, spanning over 200 individual orders from a single web-to-pack kiosk. This showcased the speed in which orders can be placed and processed as the orders were collected during the infamous happy hour at the end of each day.
Visitors started their journey by attending a kiosk running Infigo Software’s SaaS platform, Catfish, to design their can and pouch—selecting backgrounds, colors and adding text before checking out their product via an interactive 3D preview. The output files and order information was then submitted to HP PrintOS Site Flow, which managed any production requirements for the HP Indigo 20000 to output the jobs. The printed pieces were then converted on the Karlville Pack Ready laminator and pouch-making machine to make the three-side-seal pouches. Attendees were treated to soft-touch, holographic and glossy finishes with a different film offered by Nobelus each day.
Label and packaging converters alike were impressed, not only by the speed the final product was delivered but also with the seamless offering that four industry leaders were able to provide outside of a standard production factory setup.
Douglas Gibson, managing director of Infigo Software, said, “The purpose of this collaboration was to show converters what could be accomplished through a streamlined, automated production process. With our ‘Pack IT’ solution, we were able to integrate top-of-the-line web-to-pack software and equipment to produce products at a rapid pace without sacrificing quality.”
