WESEL, Germany—ACTEGA, manufacturer of specialty coatings, inks, adhesives and sealing compounds for the print and packaging industry, announced that it has appointed Dennis Siepmann to the newly created role of global head of sustainability. This appointment underscores the company’s strong commitment to driving their ESG agenda further.
Siepmann will lead the ongoing development and delivery of ACTEGA’s sustainability and ESG initiatives with a particular focus on circular economy, sustainable solutions and ALTANA’s, objectives to becoming climate neutral by 2025. Dennis will be responsible for driving ACTEGA’s sustainability efforts and their integration across the technologies and operations of the company. With a degree in chemistry and a proven track record in developing environmentally friendly solutions for the medical and consumer goods industry, Siepmann brings the right skill set to spearhead the company’s sustainability initiatives and help ACTEGA meet its environmental, social and financial objectives.
Siepmann has been with ACTEGA for more than a decade, having started as business development manager at the ACTEGA site in Bremen, Germany and most recently as the global segment head for speciality consumer goods.
Commenting on his new role, Siepmann said: “I am honoured to be taking on this role at such an exciting time for ACTEGA and very much looking forward to working with our teams around the world to find new ways to reduce our environmental impact as well as to make a positive contribution to the areas in which we operate. Sustainability is a key priority for our company and a topic I’m incredibly passionate about. My previous roles have given me a broad understanding of sustainability, and I am keen to bring in my experience to address sustainable development topics within our company and within the packaging industry.”
During his career with ACTEGA, Siepmann has played a key role in the successful delivery of several projects which were driven by sustainability targets. These include the development of environmentally friendly and PVC-free materials for medical applications or thermoplastic elastomers for personal care applications with improved processing properties.
Siepmann will report directly to Thorsten Kröller, president, division ACTEGA, in his new position.
