FAIRFIELD, NJCyngient LLC, the full-service, technology-driven provider of inks, coatings and adhesives for label and packaging converters, has announced the appointment of Shannon Cook to the position of chief technology officer. She brings to Cyngient more than two decades of experience in product development, management and sales of inks, adhesives and coatings within the narrow web converting industry.

Cook previously held technical, business and general management positions with Craig Adhesives, Royal Adhesives and H.B. Fuller. Prior to that, she was a chemist for Environmental Inks and Coatings. Cook has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Appalachian State University.

“It’s an exciting time for us at Cyngient as we’re coming off the biggest and busiest month in company history,” said Andrew Wasserman, managing partner at Cyngient. “After a year-long search for an executive with the skillset that will elevate us to the next level, we’re delighted to welcome Shannon to the Cyngient family. Her passion, commitment and integrity, as well as her role as a visionary and leader in the development and application of adhesives and coatings, is already delivering immediate results to our fast-growing customer base. The addition of Shannon is a key component in our aim to advance the narrow web label and package printing markets.”

In the chief technology officer position, Cook is playing a pivotal role in business development. She brings to Cyngient a long history of industry relationships, in addition to vast technical knowledge of chemistry, applications, UV technology and R&D best practices.

Cook commented, “I’m excited to get back to customer-focused problem solving, which is in line with Cyngient’s approach. It’s thrilling to be a part of the innovations being developed here. Innovation is engrained in Cyngient’s culture, as is the entrepreneurial spirit—two things I’m passionate about. We have a clear commitment to the narrow web industry and I’m eager to work toward enhancing our leading edge technology.”

Among Cyngient’s recent product launches is PUREmatte, a Nestlé-compliant UV flexo coating, and HYPERcolor, an adhesive that expands the cold foil color gamut for shrink sleeves. The company has recently doubled its capacity at its Fairfield, NJ headquarters and offers next-day service and budget-friendly batch sizes.
