GIRONA, Spain—FTA member Comexi, a global leading supplier for the flexible packaging industry, has organized a list of technical seminars on flexible packaging trends that will be held in several countries around the globe in 2018. Comexi will consign its best specialists to offer a high quality and the most interesting conferences for the printing and converting sector which also will have the collaboration of key Comexi partners. The conference will benefit from the knowledge and experience of the Manel Xifra Boada Centre of Technology, a driving force in the flexible packaging sector.
The first technical seminar programmed starts on April 25 in Peru, showing new solutions to increase efficiency, optimize production inline, as well as color management and the concept of expanded gamut and applications with added value in flexible packaging, an event that has already stirred the interest of more than 70 customers already registered of Central and Latin American converters, seeking emerging opportunities for growth.
The following events will be held in France, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Brazil in June and October will be focused on presenting the latest technology according to the most demanding market needs, going through all printing and converting technologies which coexist in the market nowadays, as well as the benefits of each of them and the improvement of productivity and efficiency in the process. These events will provide a detailed vision of current scenarios and the latest market trends in the flexible packaging printing and converting industry.
“With this project, we would like to transfer our wide experience to all our clients, accompanying and providing them with additional value and technical expertise,” said Comexi Marketing Director David Centelles.
Specifically, topics discussed during the seminars will reflect growing market demand for better quality products as well as requests for higher productivity equipment, latest applications in packaging and new innovations in printing technologies.
The group will focus its speeches on the wide range of printing technologies; latest flexographic press technology sharing expertise in color management, expanded gamut system, digital services, the revolutionary offset printing and the high-quality of gravure printing technology. Laminating and slitting processes; complex laminating structures, eye-catching finishing, high-end applications with high barrier properties, coatings at register, matte, gloss and holographic effects, as well as laser application to make differentiated products, will be also some of the topics that will deal during the sessions.
In the Asia region and following Comexi’s empowerment of its Gravure Business Unit, the group will make special emphasis on rotogravure printing technology, to keep its presence in the market. Comexi will also show its complete portfolio with offset and flexographic printing technology, as well as converting technologies. Japan will also play a leading role in this conference of seminaries and the group will focus its efforts on boosting the revolutionary technology of offset printing which has grown exponentially, doubling its sales in the last three years.

First Technical Seminar in Peru
The first step of these seminars will be April 25 and 26 in Lima, Peru, where Comexi together with Química Anders, MacDermid Graphics Solutions, JM Heaford, Flexo Wash, Apex International, Daetwyler, AVT and Lohmann have organized a two-day technical seminar about technical solutions to optimize production processes and increase efficiency in the conversion of flexible packaging.
This seminar will be a meeting point to expose, share and discuss the latest requests, both from the point of view of the manufacturers and consumers, taking into account the demanding requirements of the flexible packaging sector. MacDermid area manager key projects, Comexi CTec technical cdvisor, Daetwyler export director, Comexi slitting brand manager are some of the speakers that will be taking part in this important event.
