CHARLOTTE, NC–Industry veteran Steve Boettcher was recently honored for his 40 years of exceptional industry contributions and achievements, coinciding with his 20th anniversary as the Technical Services Manager at FLXON.

Forty years ago, Boettcher began his career in printing along Highway 41 in his native Wisconsin. For the next two decades, he worked his way up the ranks from makeready to operator, eventually becoming a print manager in wide web flexo and roto pressrooms across the state. His success stemmed from his innate inquisitiveness and commitment to seeking out and implementing practical solutions that enhanced processes and profitability.

After using SWEDCUT doctor blades in his pressroom to improve print quality, increase press speeds, reduce waste and lower annual doctor blade spend, Steve joined FLXON as technical services manager in 2004. Since then, he has carried out over 400 detailed pressroom audits, focusing on operator best practices and troubleshooting training.

Thanks to his efforts, numerous pressrooms in Canada, the US, Mexico, and Europe have successfully minimized manufacturing costs. Moreover, Boettcher has equipped FLXON’s team with the expertise to assist customers in selecting the most suitable SWED/CUT doctor blades for their specific needs at a reasonable cost.

“Steve’s contributions and commitment are greatly appreciated, not only by our organization but by the entire industry. His significant technical role in advancing doctor blade technology and ink management has been instrumental,” commented Ryan Sharkey, President of FLXON. “Thanks to his expertise, numerous pressrooms in the United States, Canada, and Mexico are now performing at a far more enhanced level. We look forward to many more years of success.”
