COLUMBUS, WI—American Packaging Corp (APC) announced it has achieved accreditation from the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC), underscoring its commitment to sustainable business practices and ongoing efforts to minimize its environmental footprint.

PSC certified that APC successfully completed an assessment of the business operation in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 of the United Nations Compact. Accreditation involves rigorous evaluation and verification of a company’s sustainability initiatives, policies, and impact.

Blaine Yost, SVP said, “This recognition reflects APC’s commitment to an extensive portfolio of sustainable packaging technologies, environmentally minded manufacturing practices, and our unwavering commitment to corporate, social and environmental responsibility.”

Jeff Travis, manager of innovation and sustainability, added, “We understand that sustainability is a continuing journey, and we are committed to continuously improving our practices and expanding our sustainable packaging product line, to further reduce environmental impact and enhance social responsibility.” 

Days before winning PSC certification, APC reported that it had achieved two major environmental, social and governance (ESG) milestones: EcoVadis Bronze Top 35% Sustainability Rating; fifth annual submission to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Katie Koenitzer, EHS Director, said, “For EcoVadis, APC scored in the top 25percent, representing a level of achievement equal to/or higher than 75 percent of all submissions in all industries. For CDP, by disclosing our environmental impact data each year, APC is demonstrating its commitment to continual improvement. It motivates us to work to embrace responsibilities, and optimize practices in a responsible manner.”

The EcoVadis Bronze Medal shines a spotlight on APC’s responsible business practices and, as well as positions itas a leader in sustainable excellence. High scores from CDP are indicative of good internal data management, as well as a clear understanding of climate change issues.
