Flexography Demystified: A Crash Course for Newcomers

This course will be for anyone new to Flexographic printing. We will discuss basic concepts of ink transfer, what a photopolymer plate is, what types of markets Flexography typically represents, pros/cons of printing with Flexography and more. This will be a presentation style event open to questions and discussions throughout.

Speakers

Kenny Tucker, Manager of Training Services

Kenny serves as the Manager of Training at the Flexographic Technical Association. Previously, he held the position of Assistant Director at Clemson University's Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics. A 2004 graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Communications, Kenny began his career at Sealed Air Corporation, where he worked across various roles, including prepress, color management, inkjet and remote proofing, workflow automation, expanded gamut printing, press characterizations, and managing graphic technologies.

He later joined Anderson & Vreeland as a Technology Specialist, focusing on the installation of plate-making equipment, RIP software, and inkjet proofing solutions. Before working for Clemson, Kenny worked as Production Manager at Frontier Label, now Sttark Labels, overseeing inventory procurement, label production, project management, and maintenance operations.
In 2019, he returned to Clemson University, coordinating industry-focused projects, seminars, research initiatives, and training workshops. In his free time, Kenny enjoys fishing, camping, and spending quality time with his family.

Stefano d'Andrea, Industrial Graphic Arts Expert

Stefano is an industrial graphic arts expert with more than 35 years of experience in flexography, from design and prepress, to plate making and printing. Since 2017 he is an independent consultant and technical trainer in the flexographic process and manages the flexo.expert and flexo.training websites. He is professor at ITS Rizzoli in Milan and principal trainer at Atif. Stefano is a member of FTA USA, he is a FIRST Certified Implementation Specialist, serves as a member of the FQC and FIRST leadership committees. Stefano actively contributes to the activities of Atif (Italian Technical Association for Flexography) and FTA-Europe and he is a member of TAGA Italy and contributes to the activities of the ISO TC 130 group
