WHALEY BRIDGE, UK—United Kingdom-based label manufacturer Interket UK purchased a new 8-color, fully automated MPS Systems EFA 530 flexographic press. The deal was signed at Labelexpo Europe 2019.

Extending its capacity in label printing, Interket UK again chose MPS as supplier for its latest new flexographic press.

MPS Systems‘ Vince Hughes and Nick Tyrer with Tim Pattison of Interket UK.

Tim Pattison, Interket UK sales and operations director, said, “In addition to expanding our flexo printing strength for on-roll self-adhesive labels, we are looking to broaden into new markets, and increasing our security product offering. Booklet multi-layer labels is a specialty we are seriously considering, which our new MPS press is perfectly capable of producing.”

Positive experiences with its previously installed MPS printing machines led Interket UK to choose another MPS press. Vince Hughes, production and technical manager for Interket UK, said: “We are happy to have such a good relationship with MPS. As our press supplier, there definitely is a long-term partnership strategy in place, and together with MPS we look forward to a successful future.”

Nick Tyrer, sales director of MPS UK Ltd, added, “It’s a pleasure to see Interket UK invest and grow with MPS machinery at its core, not only here in the UK but across the whole Interket Group. Interket UK laid the fundamental platform for the partnership and Tim and Vince have been invaluable in making this partnership the success that it is today. This third machine is a little more diverse than the previous two machines, so it will be interesting to see Interket UK spread their wings into different and more diverse market sectors.”

Interket distinguishes itself by manufacturing its own self-adhesive laminate materials. Hughes said, “By coating our own substrates, we are able to supply specialist bespoke label applications.”

The road to printing its own material hasn’t always been easy. “When we first appraised narrow web machinery, MPS were the only press company that could successfully print and convert our own specialist bespoke materials, at a consistent speed with consistent conversion tolerances that are critical to the product and marketplaces we serve,” added Hughes.

Tyrer added, “At MPS, we challenge ourselves to think along with the customer and strive to offer more than just a high-quality printing press. We go beyond by providing advice in creating unique applications, and also offer latest innovations in connectivity and productivity along with data-driven service for further business improvement.”

The sale of Interket UK’s new MPS EFA 530 press with “+”package for full automation of all print pressure settings was signed at the MPS booth during Labelexpo Europe 2019, as one of 12 presses sold during the show.
