MINNEAPOLIS, MN—For the 26th time in 28 years, Meyers, a national leader in brand marketing, product labeling and retail merchandising solutions, has received the Spirit of Excellence Award from Hormel Foods. The award, given to suppliers who work with Hormel in areas from packaging to pork procurement, recognizes companies that play a role in Hormel’s continuous improvement.
“We are proud to partner with these outstanding suppliers and congratulate them on this achievement,” said Curtis Southard, director of purchasing at Hormel Foods. “These suppliers truly go above and beyond in helping us produce high-quality products for consumers around the world to achieve our key results.”
In order to qualify for the Spirit of Excellence Award, suppliers must maintain a score of at least 92 on Hormel’s supplier rating index. For 2017, Meyers recorded the highest supplier rating index score of any Hormel supplier.
“Meyers prides itself on working closely with clients to provide excellent, innovative solutions to retailers and leading brands, so it’s always rewarding to know that our efforts have made a difference,” said Micheal Lane, CEO, Meyers. “Whether we’re producing innovative packaging for high-end ham or creating effective displays to promote Hormel products in stores, our partnership has been built on a strong foundation of collaboration in the interest of producing outstanding results. We look forward to continuing that relationship for years to come.”
In addition to the Spirit of Excellence Award, Meyers has received Hormel’s No. 1 Award each of the three times it has been awarded. The No. 1 Award is given every five years to suppliers who have earned the Spirit of Excellence Award four of the five previous years, recorded an average supplier rating index score of at least 96 percent, and met additional requirements.
