DES MOINES, IA—As Siegwerk continues to invest in its future, it is further developing its Centers of Excellence (CoE)—manufacturing locations with technology focus and state-of-the art process setup.

The CoE concept helps Siegwerk to maintain a high level of quality and consistency in its products while remaining market competitive in an ever-evolving industry, reports the company. Over the past couple of years, Siegwerk has dedicated resources to developing a CoE in Morganton, NC for its water-based and energy-curable ink manufacturing. More recently, steps have been taken to further foster the CoE model for solvent-based inks in Des Moines, IA.

With the addition of the new warehouse set to be completed in June 2018, Siegwerk is looking to the next phase of the CoE plan, which is to consolidate manufacturing of solvent-based inks in Des Moines, IA. In total, the $15,000,000 expansion will best equip Siegwerk CUSA to grow in the future, the company reports.

While this is an exciting time for Siegwerk, it is also bittersweet as Siegwerk is announcing the closure of its Boiling Springs, SC facility by the end of 2018. The employees at this facility have consistently provided an outstanding product and level of service to Siegwerk customers over the last 28 years, Siegwerk reports. It is the company’s goal to maintain this high level of quality and support during and beyond the transition. Customers and employees affected by this change have been notified.
