menasha-publixNEENAH, WIMenasha, one of the industry’s largest independent, retail focused packaging and merchandising solutions provider, was recognized with 16 Design of the Times (DOT) awards by the Path to Purchase Institute (P2PI). And Jill Andersen, its director of marketing, was named to the 2016 class of Women of Excellence by Path to Purchase Institute (P2PI).

DOT recognizes the most effective and innovative in store activations, retail displays, and marketing campaigns throughout the year. This year, there were nearly 300 entrants in eight retail channels including consumer electronics, convenience, drug, home centers/hardware, mass merchandise, specialty, sporting goods and supermarket/grocery stores.

Menasha took home awards in four of the categories: convenience, drug, mass merchandisers and supermarket/grocery. A total of 135 entries won an award at this year’s competition.

“Being chosen for multiple DOT awards at the Path to Purchase Expo (P2PX) is a tremendous honor,” Dennis Bonn, Menasha vice president of marketing, said. “Being recognized for the second year in a row with a platinum distinction shows the impact we’ve made in our industry through hard work and continuous innovation.”

Final judging to name bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and “Best of the Times” awards took place Tuesday, Sept. 20, during the P2PX at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago. Winners were announced at the DOT reception and ceremony the following day.

The Design of the Times contest has been in effect for more than 20 years and has recognized hundreds of leading brands, retailers, agencies, and P.O.P. and packaging design firms. Menasha has also taken home DOT awards in previous years.

Jill Andersen Named To Women of Excellence

Additionally, Menasha Director of Marketing Jill Andersen has been named to the 2016 class of Women of Excellence by Path to Purchase Institute (P2PI) along with a group of deserving women, recognized for their leadership, knowledge and influence in retail.

Jill has worked in the retail merchandising industry for more than 20 years, with 15 of those years spent at Menasha, a leading merchandising and packaging company focused on optimizing the retail supply chain. As director of marketing, her focus within the company involves brand development and management, strategic planning, and marketing communications.

During her time in the industry, she has seen the development and evolution of shopper marketing and the importance of getting it “right” in store. Prior to joining Menasha, Jill spent time on the consumer products side of the industry, focusing on product development and product marketing within the housewares industry.

“Being recognized by P2PI among many deserving and successful women is a huge honor,” Jill said. “I’m thankful for the platform and opportunities Menasha has given me to grow professionally and make an impact in the field that I love.”

A special reception was held in honor of this year’s honorees at the 2016 Path to Purchase Expo (P2PX) on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago.
