BOHEMIA, NY—Twenty highly passionate Flexographic Technical Association members, still early in their careers, came together and amplified their voices, Tuesday Feb. 18, 2025, as FTA hosted a virtual meeting focused on how they can contribute to shaping the future of package printing and converting.
The discussion, led by FTA President Nathan Ridnouer and Manager of Membership and Communities Chris Standifer indicated that in analyzing recent data trends, FTA became certain that involvement from new and young voices is crucial for the future of printing. It is pivotal that this cadre of individuals have a place to come together to collaborate. FTA is dedicated to ensuring it does.
“FTA is making a big investment in the next generation,” said Ridnouer. “We want to see a significant increase in Emerging Leaders volunteering for FTA, speaking at our events, and driving change within the association and the industry it serves. This will all start with the creation and launch of an Emerging Leaders Community!”
Energy and excitement for this project was palpable. Participants shared ideas on the formation of this community group. Josh Sigmon, Harper Corporation, stated, “I love this idea of focusing on different stages of your career. FTA is establishing that very clearly.”
Homing in on where members of the Emerging Leaders Community want to make the most impact, Nina Davis Clark, Olberding Brand Family, commented that an important focus could and should be “providing a glimmer of hope for those individuals who are leaving the industry.” Her message to them is, “Know that some of the younger people in the membership are carrying the more technical torches.”
Keep your eyes out for more news of this group as it continues to evolve to meet the needs of FTA and the Industry. At FORUM INFOFLEX 2025, an informal breakfast meeting to discuss the current and coming assembly of FTA communities is set for Tuesday, May 7, 7:00 a.m. All interested are welcome to attend.
