On Friday May 7, 2010 a fire broke out in Salamanca, NY. It devastated commercial buildings, some of which were of historical significance. The administrative facilities of Luminite Products Corp., a long time FTA member, were among the buildings lost.

However, due to the efforts of many, Luminite Products opened it doors for business the following Monday morning in the same manner that it has for the last 84 years… It turned on the lights, powered up its manufacturing equipment and starting the daily process of filling customer’s orders.

To say that the damage Luminite sustained to its administrative building and some graphics art equipment was minor would be a gross understatement. The Administration buildings are a complete loss. Thankfully, however, there was no loss of life and the firm's manufacturing facilities are 100 percent operational… The company is expect a few momentary phone issues, as new lines and other replacement communication systems are replaced.

Through the efforts of many employees, and all of the men and women of the Salamanca, NY Fire Department, Luminite's sales customer service and computer graphics departments have relocate to its manufacturing facilities situated only three miles away.
