BOBST’s Fred Rostalski Awarded BOBST Inventor Award for Smart GPS 2.0

A BOBST employee has been recognized for groundbreaking new work around print efficiency: Fred Rostalski, an engineer at BOBST Bielefeld GmbH, received the prestigious BOBST Inventor Award for the “Method for determining print parameters of a print machine and test stand” (Smart GPS 2.0) which was granted in 2021.

Miraclon Partners with Paper Converting Machine Co (PCMC) at New Packaging Innovation Center

Miraclon, home of KODAK FLEXCEL Solutions, has become Paper Converting Machine Co’s (PCMC) sole plate technology partner in the company’s new Packaging Innovation Center. Officially opened in Green Bay, WI on April 26, the new center is now home to a KODAK FLEXCEL NX System with KODAK FLEXCEL NX Ultra Processing Solution to support PCMC’s goal of creating a completely solvent-free environment.

Barrie Porteous 1945–2022

Barrie Milroy Porteous, deemed by many in flexographic printing circles to be “a man with ink in his blood,” was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Jan. 17, 1945 and passed away April 8.

KODAK FLEXCEL NX Technology Helps Drive Growth at Impression Label

Early in 2022 a new name—Impression Label—appeared on the label manufacturing scene in Denver, CO. The rebranding followed the merger of two long-established Denver label manufacturers, Blair Labeling and Buckley Graphics, which, said CFO Marco De La Vega, “created a single company with over 350 years’ combined experience, committed to providing Colorado manufacturers with truly innovative solutions in product design, printing and packaging.”
