Global Packaging Becomes First Flexo SGP Printer

Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) is proud to announce that member-company Global Packaging, Inc. in Oaks, PA, is the first flexo printer certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership  as an SGP Printer.

Global Packaging is among the industry’s most innovative flexographic printers specializing in complex graphics up to 10 colors. Markets serviced and supported by the firm include personal care, baby diapers, towel & tissue, frozen foods, bakery goods, and candy. Continuous improvement, investment in the latest technology and total commitment to quality and sustainability are the driving forces behind Global Packaging’s philosophy. Its commitment to employee safety and social responsibility, coupled with its efforts to reduce environmental impact are important considerations in all it does.

Tony Maginnis, CEO of Global Packaging noted, “Our customers include some of the largest Consumer Products Companies in the world with demanding requirements in the area of print quality, color consistency, sustainability and service. We meet these requirements by investing in state-of-the-art equipment, hiring the best employees in the business, exploring new opportunities in sustainability and developing true partnerships with our customers.”

“Global Packaging is a proactive company that has integrated sustainability into the business model and serves as a fine example for other flexographic printers looking to become an SGP Printer,” commented Doreen M. Monteleone, FTA’s director of special projects and EHS services and SGP Partnership board member. “We are pleased that there are a number of other FTA members also working through the certification process. We expect to see the number of applicants accelerate as print buyers continue to support the program.”

The SGP Partnership is an independent, certification organization with the primary goals of defining sustainable green printing and recognizing facilities meeting established sustainable manufacturing and business practices. Additional support is provided by SGP Patrons and associations, such as the Flexographic Technical Association. Printing facilities located in the United States and Canada are eligible to apply for recognition.
