June 11, 2013 – Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) today opened registrations for its 2013 Fall Conference & Tabletop Exhibit themed “Got Data? Now What?” The conference takes place Oct. 14-16 at the Marriott Kansas City Downtown, in Kansas City, MO.
Under the leadership of conference chairs Mike Orcutt, Matthews Brand Solutions and Bart Wright, InterFlex Group, attendees will learn how to properly collect, measure and utilize data for smarter printing.
The agenda will delve deep into the process of generating data and how it can be effectively used to improve the prepress, platemaking and printing workflows. Conference delegates will discover the best methods to analyze, automate and apply data in order to drive performance, consistency and quality results.
“Being without good data is like trying to coach a basketball team for the 2nd half and not knowing what the score is!” said Orcutt. “Do we continue what we have been doing? Do we need to make changes? It’s no different in the flexographic process. We need to know what data to collect and how to use it to ensure GOOD print results. This conference will be beneficial to any flexographic printer who wants to improve efficiencies and overall print quality.”
FTA’s Fall Conference features a complimentary pre-conference session on G7 in addition to six sessions and a tabletop exhibit that runs concurrently with breaks, lunch and two networking receptions.
The sessions are:
The final two sessions on Wednesday (Data Collection Solutions Parts I & II) have a relaxed commercialization policy as they identify and explain the products and services available on the market today to facilitate streamlined data collection and analysis.
Wright summed it up this way, “We all collect data. What should we do with it? In baseball you know your team’s stats, batting average, on base percentage, home runs, RBIs, etc. How do we use the data collected to get the best production? How do we use it to win? How do we use data to win in printing? These are the questions we will answer at the Fall Conference.”
Attendees will save $100 by registering by September 27. Consumer Product Companies (CPCs) and printers/converters enjoy specially discounted rates of $95 and $350 per FTA member, respectively. General attendee rates are $425 per FTA member.
Those wanting to reserve a tabletop can do so until June 15 for $1,295 per FTA member. After that date the rate increases $200. A tabletop includes one conference registration, as well as a company listing as a conference sponsor in all promotional materials before, during and after the event.
