Girona, Spain - Comexi Group, a specialist in the manufacturing of machinery for the flexible packaging converting industry, closed their participation in drupa 2012 with a sales volume of over 17 million euros and more than 3,000 visits to their stand. The company, headed by Manel Xifra, positively assessed their presence at the fair and expects to finalize various operations over the course of the next few months.
Among the most outstanding innovations presented by the Catalan holding company at drupa, was the worldwide launch of the new COMEXI OFFSET CI8 press. This is the first press designed for the flexible material converting industry that is capable of offering all the advantages of offset printing, and the first units have already been sold.
During the exhibition, visitors also had the opportunity to see how the slitting and rewinding unit COMEXI PROSLIT S-TURRET works as well as the COMEXI FLEXOF2 and the COMEXI CINGULAR units.
Reflecting upon the firm's participation in drupa, Manel Xifra, president, Comexi said, “Drupa is no doubt the Olympics of printing. At Comexi Group, we have set for ourselves two main challenges: on the one hand, demonstrate our technological leadership and the capacity of Comexi to confront the significant changes our sector is experiencing, marked by the need for a more sustainable and economic printing process. On the other, to finalize as many operations as possible and to open doors for future sales. We have by far achieved both objectives."
Despite the decrease in the number of visitors to this edition of the fair, the Catalan company aroused anticipation with the presentation of their latest innovations, which contributed to doubling the number of visitors to the Comexi stand. Visitors included the presidents of Heildelberg, Kodak, Wifag Polytype, Reifenhauser, Wikoff, Inx and Dupont Packaging Graphics and senior managers from Siemens, Henkel, Man Roland and Bryce, among others.
