Develops and administers the FTA Excellence in Flexography competition policy, including rules and regulations, selection of judges and judge qualifications and judging procedure.
Develops updates to the FIRST book.
Investigates selected printing variables in order to further develop reproducible process concepts that will allow for measurable advancements in flexographic printing technology. Actively participates in the global graphic standards committees and associations in researching and representing the flexographic printing process and FIRST
Reviews the editorial calendar developed by the magazine staff for content, appropriate industry coverage, and potential resources; assists in reviewing articles for technical accuracy and commercialism.
Generates the technical program for the Annual Forum for a given year, with emphasis on current and new technologies; enforces the Forum “non-commercialism” policy.
Provides opinions, suggestions and evaluations which are used as the basis for programs and International Flexo Seminars for to advance print quality in Spanish; coordinates annually with associations and leading companies in Latin America.
Advises, evaluates and implements plans to promote FTA membership to the various direct and indirect participants in the flexographic printing industry. Reviews and recommends programs to retain current members.
Evaluates requests for funding of the purchase of machinery or equipment, and/or the funding of research from educational institutions and from other entities proposing projects that will benefit the flexographic printing industry.
Develops rules and regulations for the granting of scholarships. Reviews applications per established guidelines based on academic standing, financial need and extracurricular activities.
Raises funds for research and educational programs to advance flexography.
Develops programs to help advance the association and network with members.
Encourages and promotes participation in the worldwide movement to achieve economic, social and environmental success of the graphic communications industry through sustainable printing practices. Provides input into sustainability products and events, regulatory issues and awards programs.
Develops rules, regulations and the process for judging significant technical achievements in the flexographic industry.
